Tyche, the goddess of fortune in Greek mythology, enjoyed great popularity in the Greek colonies of Asia Minor, where she was revered as the patron deity responsible for bringing good fortune to a city. In art, she was often depicted with various symbols representing the well-being of a city, including a turreted crown symbolizing town walls and defense, a rudder representing trade and navigation, and a cornucopia symbolizing abundance and economic prosperity. Throughout the Greek world, Tyche held a significant position as a powerful deity believed to influence the destiny and fate of cities and their inhabitants. People sought her blessings and protection, especially during challenging times, as they believed she could bestow them with luck and prosperity.
This piece is completely handmade with lost wax casting method. It’s the process where Hespérides take a hand-carved wax model and turn it into a finished piece in precious metal.
