Selene Earrings are made with recycled 925 sterling silver and 24k gold vermeil. Completely handmade and set with moonstone, rainbow moonstone, and lab-grown sapphire.
In Greek mythology of old, the goddess Selene was linked to the moon, while in Roman mythology, the moon was connected to Luna. Numerous indigenous societies venerated the moon as a deity governing the night sky and tides. Moonstone, as its name implies, is the gem often associated with the moon. This translucent, pale blue or white gemstone mirrors the moon's shifting light, offering wearers a sense of serenity and equilibrium.

CARE
Our vermeil is a layer of fine 24ct gold, plated on top of silver. As this is just a layer it can gradually wear, giving the appearance that it has faded. Every day wear may speed up this process, especially on items like rings and bracelets which have lots of contact knocking against objects. We offer a re-plating service for our vermeil jewelry.
Perfume, sweat, skin and hair products can all react with silver causing it to tarnish, cause vermeil to erode and even damage stones – especially pearls. Always apply your products before putting on your jewellery and leave for a few minutes to be absorbed by the skin. Avoid spraying perfume or hairspray directly onto your jewelry as this can damage it.

This piece is completely handmade with lost wax casting method. It’s the process where Hespérides take a hand-carved wax model and turn it into a finished piece in precious metal.
