Cross of Lorraine
Cross of Lorraine Necklace is made with recycled 925 sterling silver and 24k gold vermeil. Completely handmade and set with garnet, aquamarine, iolite, citrine, and tsavorite gemstones and a pearl chain.
The Cross of Lorraine was introduced from the Kingdom of Hungary to the Duchy of Lorraine. In Hungary, Béla III became the first monarch to employ the two-barred cross as a representation of royal authority during the latter part of the 12th century. This design was likely borrowed from the Byzantine Empire.

CARE
Our vermeil is a layer of fine 24ct gold, plated on top of silver. As this is just a layer it can gradually wear, giving the appearance that it has faded. Every day wear may speed up this process, especially on items like rings and bracelets which have lots of contact knocking against objects. We offer a re-plating service for our vermeil jewelry.
Perfume, sweat, skin and hair products can all react with silver causing it to tarnish, cause vermeil to erode and even damage stones – especially pearls. Always apply your products before putting on your jewellery and leave for a few minutes to be absorbed by the skin. Avoid spraying perfume or hairspray directly onto your jewelry as this can damage it.

This piece is completely handmade with lost wax casting method. It’s the process where Hespérides take a hand-carved wax model and turn it into a finished piece in precious metal.
