Artemis is the Greek goddess revered for her domain over the wilds, maidens, and childbirth. Though her main cult center may have been in Calydon, Aetolia, her worship extended widely across Greece, cherished by huntsmen, girls, and women alike. Notably, she was also linked with the many-breasted Ephesian goddess of Asia Minor, reflecting her far-reaching influence and recognition. As the protector of the wilderness, Artemis was often depicted with attributes representing nature, such as a bow and arrows. Her important roles included safeguarding young maidens and overseeing childbirth, making her a highly respected and significant deity within Greek mythology.

Our vermeil is a layer of fine 24ct gold, plated on top of silver. As this is just a layer it can gradually wear, giving the appearance that it has faded. Every day wear may speed up this process, especially on items like rings and bracelets which have lots of contact knocking against objects. We offer a re-plating service for our vermeil jewelry.
Perfume, sweat, skin and hair products can all react with silver causing it to tarnish, cause vermeil to erode and even damage stones – especially pearls. Always apply your products before putting on your jewellery and leave for a few minutes to be absorbed by the skin. Avoid spraying perfume or hairspray directly onto your jewelry as this can damage it.

This piece is completely handmade with lost wax casting method. It’s the process where Hespérides take a hand-carved wax model and turn it into a finished piece in precious metal.
